  • Okay that’s great. Let me tell you guys something really interesting in Dreamweaver. The CVS Directories; these are very handy in Dreamweaver. Many a times, several developers work on the same project, each one of them editing files within their own “working copy” of the project or may be locally on their respective machines, and then sending their modifications to the server. This is really frustrating sometimes, when one developer has to re-new his copy of the project, when someone else modifies any file of the project. Developers are therefore expected to keep their working copy up-to-date by incorporating other people’s changes on a regular basis. To avoid this situation, this task is mostly handled automatically by the CVS client. Manual intervention is only required when there is a problem between already done modification and the yet to done modification version of a file.
CVS has so many features and benefits to describe but to sum this all up; I would say that this is quite a handy tool to keep your projects up-to-date in any given scenario.

  • Great information..here comes another benefit while working in Dreamweaver. There is no doubt that the accidental costs of collaboration between workgroups and organizations will be greatly reduced with WebDAV. WebDAV is responsible for making the Web a simple, collaborative, writable medium. WebDAV significantly eases the process of web page/site creation and also can be used to support virtual development teams.

WebDAV (Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is a protocol or a set of extensions to HTTP 1.1 protocol, by virtue of which people can read and write documents over the web. WebDAV allows the users to do various activities in terms of sharing and working with server-based documents regardless of their authoring tools, platforms or the type of web servers on which they are stored. The users are given a single, consistent way to access and write documents residing on remote servers from multiple vendors and this has been made possible when WebDAV works behind the scenes over the HTTP protocol. Nevertheless, having this type of application will certainly benefit the users to a great extent.
